The 2016-17 Golden State Warriors were on a mission. One season earlier, the defending NBA champions embarked on a historic campaign that saw them win a league record 73 games and storm through the Western Conference Playoffs before surging to within one elusive victory of a second straight crown at the 2016 NBA Finals.
Disappointed but not broken, the Warriors would re-group, strengthened by the off-season addition of four-time NBA Scoring Champion, Kevin Durant. This talented group with two-time NBA MVP Stephen Curry, All-Stars Klay Thompson and Draymond Green, as well as the 2015 Finals MVP Andre Iguodala, helped transform Head Coach Steve Kerr’s squad on another memorable historic pursuit.
Golden State piled up win after win down the stretch, setting an NBA record with 12 consecutive post-season victories to advance to the NBA Finals and a third consecutive showdown with the Cleveland Cavaliers and LeBron James.
