I don't think I ever missed an episode as a kid. Our whole family watched BSG together and ENJOYED IT. I wished Lorne Greene was My Grandfather. My first real "heartbreak": Apollo's poignant loss of his wife.... "and we'll have an eternity, too" Not a dry eye in the house. Funny: the other day, I heard a segment of Stuart Phillips' score on Songza. Recognized it instantly. I must have worn out my vinyl LP listening and absorbing every note. An inspiring musical score was a first for TV shows back in the day

I loved this series. I'm not old enough to have seen it when it aired but I saw it on tape over and over again (wore the tapes out). The new one is good, but the classic is my favorite no matter how cheesy. I'll edit my review as it seemed to have caused some people problems. It was a late night review and I was under the impression it was released in the early 70's. I stand corrected by both Google Play at the top and by the reviews above me. Still doesn't change the fact this is a great show.

Hey kid, I saw the FIRST Star Wars in the theater in July 1977 and then all that summer. I then gleefully awaited this TV series when it debuted on ABC the following year. It wasn't cheesy or hokey as a teenager when it first came out. The FX were for a TV budget and I accepted that. But it was great having a decent Sci Fi show with decent FX in that era. And it's fun to look back at now. Can't wait to show my boys.
