About this movie

The star power of Cate Blanchett (Robin Hood) and Giovanni Ribisi (Avatar) propels this luminous and intensely haunting motion picture from the acclaimed director of Run Lola Run. Philippa (Blanchett), a British teacher living in Turin, Italy, has watched helplessly as her husband and friends have fallen victim to drug overdoses. To compound her desperation, the police - who are complicit in the actions of Turin's biggest drug dealer - have completely ignored Philippa's repeated offers of information. So, with the unexpected help of a sympathetic police officer (Ribisi), Philippa feels she has nothing to lose by taking divine justice into her own hands. A probing exploration of the modern world and its moral choices, you'll be mesmerized by Philippa's transformation from grieving widow to wanted fugitive.

Absolutely mezmerizing film. Cate's performance is what I have come to expect from her at all times -- excellence! (OK, Raiders IV being the exception.) There is a pivotal scene after she's been arrested and relentlessly interrogated -- when she learns of her actions that is absolutely astounding in both its depth and her ability to pull it off. Its not a movie meant to be categorized in a world's great cinema collection, but most definitely should be on your watchlist if you enjoy a well-told story and brilliant actors doing some of their best subtle work. I highly recommend this!

Not to my likes. Not saying it's a bad or poorly constructed film, just not care to view again. Feel kinda bad cus likes so many films with CB as a main. She does very well even in some poor constructed films. mic pete Cl;-)~™ Ririe, ID 🇺🇸

Startling direction which the police officer takes and makes you wonder if he'll succeed.
