About this movie

In this beautifully shot wuxia epic, a powerful swordsman is haunted by the destructive impact his deadly talents have on others. Weary of the bloodshed and violence from the martial arts world, he banishes himself to the humble life a vagrant, wandering the fringes of society. But his violent past refuses to let him go quietly. The master swordsman must regain the ability to wield his sword and fight those disrupting the peace he so desperately craves. Director Derek Yee joins forces with producer Tsui Hark to bring this classic story of a master swordsman to life. With a mixture of complex emotions and unconventional characters, Tsui and Yee believe their collaboration has created a Sword Master that will both entertain and intrigue.

This is a CGI Mess. I don't see how the description can say this was beautifully shot when most of it resembles a bad video game from 1995 with awful artificial lighting. Storywise, its even worse. You have a perfectly good villan who is hardly utilized and not very bright instead we get a bunch of dingbats. You end up hating just about everyone. You may feel an urge to throw something at the tv by the time the credits roll.

I loved this movie...one must have an open mind and look past visual limitations and focus on the plot... the only con was it was too short but in a time where movies are now 2 to 3 hrs long of course it would seem short....still...loved the movie.
