About this movie

In the shady campgrounds of Yosemite Valley, climbers carved out a counterculture lifestyle of dumpster-diving and wild parties. And up on the walls, generation after generation has pushed the limits of climbing, vying among each other for supremacy on Yosemite's cliffs. Valley Uprising is the riveting, unforgettable tale of this bold rock climbing tradition in Yosemite National Park: half a century of struggle against the laws of gravity -- and the laws of the land.

These guys started it all.... I got to catch this on the Discovery channel (I think that's what channel it came on)! Really interesting story about the beginings of the climbing culture to the creation of "free climbing"!

Could be the best documentary I've seen. From the music to the first hand accounts to the scenery to the special effects. Too good to rate. A must see for Yosemite lovers.

Why is this version censored? Also has breaks that were intended for commercials. This isn't the movie I watched the first time.
