This highly atmospheric film, which follows in the footsteps of sci-fi dramas such as Solaris, is by turns both beautiful and disturbing. There's a wonderfully pensive performance by Robert Pattinson, which is counted by Juliette Binoche's quietly deranged physician. Though it might fall short compared with other Claire Denis films (such as Beau Travail) it leaves some lasting images and plenty of food for thought.

Watched this at the cinema, terrible terrible movie. It felt like at the end what was the point. If I could give it zero stars I would, but I can't so 1/5 it is

I wouldn't listen to the other two reviews on here. Claire Denis' High Life is a thought provoking and intriguing movie with a stunning and eerie atmosphere that will keep you hooked from beginning to end. Some great cinematography on the go here too. I won't give away much of the plot as I feel its best to experience it blind but I will say, Robert Pattinson gives a great central performance here. The movie is slow burner and a bit of a thinker but I promise you that if you're in the right mood for it you'll really enjoy it.
