About this movie

Based on Actual Events. Samantha plays a 'Fortune Teller' at a local carnival, but she is a skeptic about the 'paranormal' and all things supernatural - she certainly doesn't believe in ghosts. But one afternoon, she performs a seance for a distraught woman that ends in unusual things happening, including an energy surge that blows out the lights and leaves Samantha with a bloody nose. From that point on, and throughout the night, strange things continue to occur. Adding to the eeriness is the fact that today (of all days) happens to be the one year anniversary of her husband, Stephen's, untimely death. Samantha lives alone in the house, a place that is filled with Stephen's exotic collections - weird masks, statues, talismans and toys. It is obvious that she hasn't let go yet. Supported by her quirky best friend, Maya, and her Grief Counselor/Psychiatrist, Dr. O'Sullivan (via phone and video chat) Samantha tries to give meaning to the bizarre happenings. The Doctor feels she is relapsing because of the anniversary, so he prescribes medication. Maya is pretty sure that a visitor from the spirit world has attached itself to Samantha - a Visitant. Maya suggests that (per Spiritism) it could be a benign spirit of the 3rd or 4th class... but warns it could also be an evil, lying entity of the 9th or 10th class (of the 3rd order). Throughout the night, Samantha goes from being skeptical, to thinking she's insane, to believing there actually is a ghost, to ultimately becoming convinced that the entity is her dead husband, Stephen. [Once Samantha discovers that the "distraught woman" she saw that afternoon was the same person who called the police about her husband's car accident a year ago, she has no doubt the Visitant is Stephen.] This leads to her performing a solo seance in a desperate attempt to reach out to her lost love. Maya races to get to her friend in time. Meanwhile, the house comes to life as Samantha opens herself up to the entity. But is it Stephen?

I liked watching it. But I wouldn't class it as horror more like paranormal genre.
