When Special Agents Jack (Lou Diamond Phillips) and Stephanie (Lori Petty) cut through a condemned, desolate highway known as Route666 while tracking a suspect, they discover a danger far worse than deadly twists and turns! Years ago, a notorious chain gang waskilled in a horrific roadside murder, and the highway still echoes with its brutal legacy. Now, they face a terrifying reality...there's no escape and no way to deny the secret behind the forces haunting this bleak wasteland.

I saw this movie randomly back in the day on HBO or Cinemax, and hadn't thought about it til it popped it up on the Google play homepage 20+ years later. Watching it today, actress Lori Petty really dates this (It's like having a female Paulie Shore in your film), she's not totally annoying, doesn't totally ruin it but eh, meh... the Horror, the action bang bang and Santana style guitar score all hold up pretty damn good tho. Def worth a rental👍

Saw this over fourteen years ago. Even then I thought it was terrible. Saw it recently and I still think the same. The film quality looks dated and low budget. I didn't even make it 20mins before turning it off.

Less horror for real horror buffs, more like suspense. Real good movie still. Starts off slow, but grows into it.
