At first blush, this is an original and oddly compelling film featuring some really enjoyable performances from Kurt Russell and cast, especially Richard Jenkins. The dialog sounds authentically archaic and manages to be witty and believable but as the film moves into some genuinely chilling sequences, the graphic violence just became too extreme for me. It's been a long time since I've looked away from a screen. I won't be watching this one a second time.

Can't believe 550 people gave this junk 5 stars! It is very boring from the start with no dialogue, poor quality character builds except that you know these people will get eaten and die some corny death in their end. This movie isn't even funny, except the corny zombie like cave dwellers that eat their prisoners, that too is so minimal you can't enjoy the main characters getting mauled. Save your money for something else!!

NO NO NO. I thought with Kurt Russel this would be a good western. OMG. Most of the dialog and "Action" is just for filler to take up time. After about the first 15 minutes I began wondering where this was going. Bad filming, dialog and plot. The gore scenes are ok but the completely unrealistic logic to get where this movie is going blows it. Just a dumb and lame movie. So bad we were groaning and rolling our eyes. Save your money.
