About this movie

Lt. Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) is the lone survivor when her crippled spaceship crash lands on Fiorina 161, a bleak wasteland inhabited by former inmates of the planet's maximum security prison. Ripley's fears that an Alien was aboard her craft are confirmed when the mutilated bodies of ex-cons begin to mount. Without weapons or modern technology of any kind, Ripley must lead the men into battle against the terrifying creature. And soon she discovers a horrifying fact about her link with the Alien, a realization that may compel Ripley to try destroying not only the horrific creature but herself as well.

Most people wanted to see ANOTHER James Cameron, Actionized asdition to the Alien saga, thsts not what it was entirely meant to be. Alien was scary. This one is, too. The first and the 3rd will forever remain my favorite, the atmosphere of the 3rd was so desolate and cold it was frightening alone. The score by Eliot Goldenthal was AH-MAZING! Come for the film but stay for Score. Oh my god, it is to die for. Please don't come looking for MUHREENS! and robotic lifter-droppers etc.

Awful as a sequel to Aliens, but otherwise a good horror sf movie. The Director's Edition is INFINITELY better than this theatrical version. The beginning and the birth of the ox (not dog) Alien are incredible. Alien fans will want to see or own both films, but for anyone new to the series, absolutely watch the Director's Edition first, also available on Google Play. It's a deep drama and Alien 3 boasted the return of H.R. Giger as creature designer.

4 out of 5 stars. Regardless of the opinions of those trashing on this movie, if you have an interest in the Alien franchise of movies, watch the series in order: Alien, Aliens and Alien 3. Unlike Resurrection, Alien 3 takes itself seriously, and has the look, sound and smell of the Alien world. I fail to understand why so many people dumped on this movie, but then again, I don't have to.
