About this movie

When a cataclysmic explosion devastates New York, eight strangers take refuse in the basement of their apartment building, a converted fallout shelter. The shelter suddenly comes under attack by men in Hazmat suits forcing the strangers to join forces in a desperate bid to take on the new enemy. Amid the chaos there is no real understanding of what these Hazmats are looking for and what drives them to be so merciless. Their sanctuary becomes a living hell where the survivors must use their wits to save themselves from becoming victims of the pack in a thrilling and gut wrenching finale. © 2010 R & D FILM 1, LLC. Michael Biehn in probably his best performance since Hicks in Aliens, reminds me what an underused talent he is in Hollywood. But don't let that compliment fool you into thinking this is about action or special effects, it isn't. Acting takes centre stage here and everyone delivers. It had me glued to the screen, even though there are many parts that made me uncomfortable; seeing what savage creatures we are when you take away all that social conditioning and get down to basic needs. Recommended.

This has every cliché you would ever expect. Plus a script that is really appalling in places. On top of it there is no character you wouldn't wished hadn't died anyway in the first 5 minutes.

Tense, claustrophobic and downbeat, but still a really good film. It's not going to be everyone's cup of tea. Good to see Michael Beihn back in a decent role, too!
