This movie is an autobiographical gem. The story line drew me in, and the brilliant cast and superb writing kept me there. I went as far as to search the internet for more information on the main character's life and body of work, as well as some of the works referred to in one of her on-line biographies. I have viewed it twice, in less than 24 hours, and am contemplating purchasing it for my own, video-streamed library. If there were a possible 10-star rating, this adaptation would be wholly deserving. {@}

This is the most incredible movie about a writer ( Ann Bancroft) in New York and her decades long business relationship with a book seller ( Anthony Hopkins)...it is really a love story from afar as they both love books and in another life would be a perfect couple...This movie is really for book lovers and for people who love the slower paced movies of yesteryear; also for people who love both New York and London, England..an award winning classic movie!!!

The ending is less to be desired as they made the movie TOO realistic. It feels like they ran out of money to pay Anthony Hopkins so they (Spoiler Alert) ...he just disappears an they kill him off in a letter. Wth?!?!? Its just a movie, but God forbid they add a happy ending where they meet at the end. I feel like I was cheated. Would have been better if every was killed off by a Nuclear Explosion or Zombie outbreak. Just sayin ending was a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT.
