Simon (Jason Bateman) en Robyn (Rebecca Hall) zijn een gelukkig stel dat aan een gezin wil beginnen tot ze Gordo (Joel Edgerton), een oud-klasgenoot van Simon, tegen het lijf lopen. De onaangekondigde bezoekjes en mysterieuze cadeautjes van Gordo blijken een dieper luguber geheim te dragen. Robyn gaat op onderzoek uit en langzaam sijpelt een angstaanjagende geschiedenis tussen Gordo en Simon binnen. Wat als het verleden nog niet klaar met je is? A fruit basket, a pack of crandy, a new toy or a bottle of sweet berry wine.... These are all ideas for for a good grift. But why do I never get grifts? How come no one wants to offer ME a nice grift even for my birthday? When I turned 6 my mommy offered me a new cage to sleep in and a pack of raisins... But that was the last grift I ever got... (thank you mommy I love you). Anyway this dang movie is about a nice man who offers very nice grifts like fish, helicropter music, and deeveedees... Check it out

An ending you won't expect! Great movie, holds your attention right to the end.

A very interesting movie. Before seeing it, you can kinda picture how the movie will play out. But instead of following those steps other movies would, this one turns it around with story-developments you don't see coming. Not only that, but the thriller aspect of this movie is well deserved. It has a lot of tense and downright scary scenes in it. Don't expect some kind of action or horror movie, though, cause you're gonna have a bad time. A movie well worth watching!
