Academy Award winner Shirley Temple, the most popular child star of all time, stars as a young woman torn between her love for a jockey and the haunting memory of her brother's death in The Story of Seabiscuit. After her brother's death, lovely Margaret O'Hara (Temple) comes from Ireland to live with her uncle (Academy Award winner Barry Fitzgerald) who trains racehorses. In America, she champions a yearling named Seabiscuit, which she believes has the makings of a champion, and falls for young jockey Ted Knowles (Lon McCallister). But deeply wounded by her brother's death while racing, Margaret will only agree to marry Ted if he gives up the career he loves.
