Yet more proof that all you need to do to get good reviews is making sure you pack so many minority issues into a movie that critics are afraid to say anything against it. Good or not, this trope is played out and prescribed.

This movie was an eye-opening experience that helped me to realise the full impact that the Oka crisis and Kanesatake Resistance had upon all the people of our region. The portrayal of courage of the Mohawk people of Kanesatake in the face of hatred and racism is commendable. This movie does its best to portray realism of the situation - when faced with dehumanising opression, emotions run high, and decorum may be futile. It is up to all of us reconcile and countermand opression and violence.

L'union réussie entre un drame historique et un récit initiatique. Le scénario trouve l'équilibre entre la juste démonstration de la haine mutuelle et les tribulations d'une pré-ado en quête de croissance, de reconnaissance et d'émancipation.
