About this movie

Based on the hugely successful novel by Kyle Onstott, Mandingo takes the audience beyond the sentimentalized South of other films with uncompromising honesty and realism to show the true brutalizing nature of slavery, which made victims of both owner and slave.

Yes this movie show how white women were just as evil as their slave owning husbands! This movie showed how it really was when a white wanted a black he would take, the same goes for the white females. They would blackmail the blackmen into having sex with by saying if you don't do it with me i will tell my husband you raped me,but in reality she was the one doing the raping. TRUTH!

I believe this is the first film to ever show on screen. I love scene between a black man, and a white woman. It's a taboo subject in Hollywood. For that to be shown in theaters in 1975. That was ground breaking.
