WISH YOU WERE HERE
Dean exits a Venice Beach rehab at dawn and does the thing he least wants in the world: phone his older brother Neal, a type-A concert promoter, to ask for help.
Neal is on his way to Nebraska to promote a rock show. He can't take his screwed up brother with him to work, but he can't leave him behind to overdose in some downtown shooting gallery.
The only answer is a road trip, clear across the country. Along the way, a series of escalating misadventures jump-starts by a violent, random encounter with Phoenix, a beautiful, but complicated girl on the run.
The trio become a surrogate family on the road, facing their fears together and helping each other heal old wounds and addictions.
From bar brawls to motel skinny-dips, from gun wielding Mexican stand-offs to starry night wilderness camp-outs, from Death Valley to Aspen to Nashville to Coney Island, the last thing you'd expect from 'Wish You Were Here' is exactly how they got from here to there.
