Child's Play (remake) is a fun updated version of the original. I do think Chucky looks worse and I miss Stephen Dorff as Chucky but this film does a great job of updating Child's Play. The mixing of technology and smart devices work and Chucky's behaviour makes sense according to how he's programmed. The deaths are decent, the actors are alright and the ending was entertaining. There are some things I'd change but overall it's an engaging film. Definitely worth a rent or purchase.

I enjoyed watching it is good enough for a cheap horror and brought an interesting new element to the story BUT they also eliminated the most interesting part of the original story. They had a chance to make this a really cool interesting reboot of the classic but instead it seems the went lazy with it. Entertaining cheap short horror, nothing more.

I dont get it. This movie wasn't terrible but it wasn't very good either. Maybe just below average in overall quality. But there's no reason for it to exist. It's not nearly as good as the original or as fun as its sequels and apparently it isnt even a reboot as the studio is still making sequels to the original.
