M.G.Ramachandran is a successful businessman but depressed over his hectic business schedule, so he takes off and goes to Simla to his bungalow where Nagesh's brother-in-law is the caretaker. Nagesh is left alone with his fiancee (Manorama) as their family goes on a pilgrimage. Nagesh only had suggested to his brother-in-law to let out the bungalow without the knowledge of MGR. Now when MGR goes there Nagesh deals with him like a tenant demanding money for every service offered. Manorama knows his identity but MGR stops her from revealing as MGR likes this idea of staying there like a stranger. Things become interesting when Saroja Devi also steps in. MGR and Saroja Devi fall in love. Whether they unite in wedlock or not is the rest of the movie.

MGR & Saroja Devi was a made to each other couple. They were very famous jodi on that period. The very first colour film of AVM, it was screened in Casino, Me kala & Ram. It was running in these theatre about 166 days, one week lesser than a Silver Jubily. In this picture Saro was so beautiful & her usual way of speaking dialogue such as, Baluvo... Vaaluvo... , nalla pillai ... anippillai ..., appa ... saavi ... tholanji poch ... , samayakkattula irukka vendiyavangalayum, hospital la irukka vendiyavangalayum koottikkittu indha simlavukku naan yaendhaan vandhaeno ... was also very interesting. Nagesh's comedy ayyo super super.MGR's lifting of bayilvan Khandha Rao, ho ... there'd no word to tell. Anbeva is simply a superb film in MGR & Saroja Devi's film career.
