Classical Grooming
Despite the sales graphics, there are no helicopters involved, nor shootouts. PROLONGED EXPOSURE is an homage to '70's style film-noir like THE CONVERSATION or PLAY MISTY FOR ME, and is set mostly in a therapist's office as the therapist works with trauma sufferers, only to discover clues to murder in the process. Dean Cain gives a solid performance as Detective Montenegro, the investigator struggling with demons of his own. The subject of PTSD and its effects on different people is given some artistic licence, but is very close to real life, and is dealt with in a respectful and constructive manner. I'm not sure where the 18+ rating comes from. The movie was made for adults, with adult themes, mildly graphic scenes (in my view), and a pacing that requires a good attention span. However, there is no swearing, nudity, gore, or graphic violence. If you like Film Noir, slow-burn mysteries, and a little exploration of the human mind, PROLONGED EXPOSURE will be up your alley
