What can I say best thing i have seen in years. Obviously helped that I'm a huge Dan and Ashens fan but that does not stop this film from being spectacular on its own. Years in the making this has really exceeded my expectations and the only thing I am sad about is that I did not back it when it was first going into production.

There is something akin to the comedic quality of the cornetto trilogy here, however I'm not sure Mr Ashen enjoys any comparison, association or mention of Simon Pegg. Stuart Ashen is a YouTuber who reviews objects of relatively low value, under the moniker Ashens. This film centres around a real world conspiracy of an alleged arcade machine named Polybius, which is said to have existed in a few arcades in America for a short time, before disappearing entirely. Ashens and his band of misfits must find the Polybius, do something with it and ultimately save the world. In the throes of a global pandemic, this was a pleasant surprise to stumble upon.

I clicked on this for no reason other than I wanted something easy to watch and the poster looked fun. Turned out to actually be great! There's a few in-jokes in there that'll go over your head if you haven't seen other "Ashens" films before, but it wasn't anything that got in the way of going along for the ride. Funny film, really slick editing and production values for a low budget film and surprisingly heart-warming at times. If you're into videogame culture you're going to particularly love this.
