One of my personal favorites in the animal kingdom is marine life (sea creatures). If you thought "Finding Nemo" is a masterpiece, think again. It does not introduce the kids the ocean properly in a way that's realistic, because there are some inaccuracies about marine life in Finding Nemo. This feature length documentary called "Oceans" will answer the question that children wonder: "What exactly is the ocean?" This film will educate the whole family what the ocean is and what the ocean is really all about. French filmmaker "Jacques Perrin" (the producer and director of this film) and the crew of cameramen has captured every part of the ocean; from the deep dark bottom of the ocean, to shorelines of any natural beach, and to the oceans that are at the North and South pole. They have captured the events that happen in the ocean; The huge raging waves that splashes the shorelines and fiercely rocks a ship (the filmmaking crew even filmmed on the ship as the waves rage on), the audience will be appalled by the depressing images of sea creatures captured and stuck in large fishing nets including lots and lots of trash that humans have wasted in the ocean. And of course, they have captured every living creature in the sea; families of all ages will be introduced by the creatures they have never learned about: the cuttlefish, the Asian sheepshead wrasse, the mantis shrimp, the dugong, the stonefish (the world's most venomous fish), and different species of eel that live in the ocean. Kids will be thrilled by the feeding frenzy in South Africa, they will go "ooh" at the creatures that live in the deep dark part of the bottom of the ocean, and this film in particular has the most feared creature in the sea with a highly misunderstood reputation: the mighty great white shark. The audience will find out that the great white is not a ferocious man-eating monster. The great white is in fact a gentle giant, as one great white will let a diver come close and they swim together side-by-side. The audience will even find out how much pollution or oil was in the ocean by showing a sonar to reveal this ominous devastation. This whole movie must have been an adventurous exercise for the filmmakers. Visually, it is a wonderfully beautiful movie with gorgeous cinematography and a variety of eye-catching colors. The filmmakers have captured everything on film at the right time and were composited together to create one whole scene. The delivery from Pierce Brosnan (the narrator of the film) creates a pleasant atmosphere; the material of his narration makes him sound wise and soothing. The script-writing that Pierce have read is deep because of how smartly inventive it is, There is even a line that has a question at the end of the film that they might be wondering: "Who exactly are we?" which makes us think about the behaviors of humans towards the ocean as well as wildlife itself. The one impressive aspect that sincerely compliments the movie is the engaging music score by French film composer named Bruno Coulais and performed by the Paris Philharmonic Orchestra. This family friendly documentary suitable for ages 8 to 98 is just as immersive and beautiful as "Finding Nemo" in terms of the visuals, but this is a lot more accurate and more pleasing. To Conclude: Spectacular as it is authentic and serene, "Oceans" is a movie all about marine life that has been done right. Highly Recommended!

Omg! Love whales dolphins and the whaleshark the best, he's such a gentle GIANT . Comes to the surface and swims right along u and won't bite like other sharks ....God commanded that he swallow up Jonah and give him back in one piece. He has two stomachs so Jonah never even drowned while he kept eating.....Check facts in ur Bibles folks. Its all relevant

Most movies barely engage the mind, seldom inform, and almost never uplift or enlighten. This movie excels at all of these. If you are bored by it, I respectfully submit that it is you who are boring -- not the movie. I was engrossed by it from the opening title to the final credit.
