About this movie

Two wayfarers wander aimlessly until Leif finds a copy of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Interpreting the book as gospel, Leif allows the book to challenge the beliefs, friendship and even the very survival of these two divergent travelers.

Very cool out of the box way of retelling an ageless story. This movie has a strong story line. Also for me a good movie is one that you think about for a while after you see It. OzLand is a mix of dystopia and fantasy very cleverly mashed together to make a thought provoking tale with hills and valleys and cheers and tears. I Highly recommend this flick. In my opinion this is an excellent date night movie, and "make you think" movie with a tinge of of sci fi. I can see this being a cult classic in the future. There are also mysteries to be discussed like " what happened to the world" " what really happenens to Leif" lots of nuggets and morsel for the mind whether one wishes to have a deep phillosophical discussion on the deeper meanings of life or just gold old fashioned cinematic entertainment. I would also reccommend buying this movie as opposed to renting because you will want to watch this multiple times. I say 6 stars our of 5

Out of the gate, "Ozland" is the kind of movie that catches you with the beauty of it's desolation. With an incredibly small budget, Director Michael Williams creates another world where two lost souls cling to the hope found in the form of a long forgotten book. The production design really brings the whole world to life and that world is rounded out in its fullness by the compelling musical score. All of this allows for a world where both lead characters are given room to explore both their own place within those last fading embers of a lost and dead world.

OzLand is a locally produced independent film with impressive cinematography, strong acting, and very high production values. Capable of multiple interpretations, the film follows two men on a journey of survival, discovery, and enlightenment in a post-apocalyptic world in which they may be the last surviving humans. The production uses occasional splashes of color to punctuate a drab and desolate environment filled with allusions to the familiar story and characters of Oz. Creative camera angles lead to stunning imagery that lingers in the mind after the screen goes dark. While clearly not intended for children, there is no nudity or harsh language in the film. There is very brief mild violence.
