About this movie

Co-directors Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez reunite to bring Miller's visually stunning "Sin City" graphic novels back to the screen in 3D in FRANK MILLER'S SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR. In a town where justice doesn't prevail, the desperate want vengeance and ruthless murderers find themselves with vigilantes on their heels. Their paths cross in Sin City's famous Kadie's Club Pecos. The film opens with fan-favourite "Just Another Saturday Night," when Marv (Mickey Rourke) finds himself in the centre of carnage as he tries to remember the preceding events. "The Long, Bad Night" tells the tale of Johnny, a cocky young gambler (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) taking his chances with the biggest villain in Sin City, Senator Roark (Powers Boothe). The central story, Miller's acclaimed "A Dame To Kill For," features Dwight McCarthy (Josh Brolin) in his final confrontation with the woman of his dreams and nightmares, Ava Lord (Eva Green). "Nancy's Last Dance" follows Nancy Callahan (Jessica Alba) in the wake of John Hartigan's (Bruce Willis) selfless suicide. Driven insane by grief and rage, she will stop at nothing to get revenge.

If you are a die hard miller fan then you will love it, if your looking for the depth that the original had then your out of luck. The trade mark noir black and white comic fx are better than ever, stylish and slick...but that's were the positives end, the multiple plots feel weak, shallow, and just not very interesting. I never thought it would surpass the original but this lacks that certain something. Worth a rent for the visuals alone, just don't get ready for intricately told story lines.

Eva steals the show with Rourke providing a suitably angry and humorous backdrop. Alba's story line surprisingly muted given the focus on it in the first film. Was hoping for a more sophisticated and deeper interleaving of sub-plots. Suffers from sequel syndrome but worth a watch for those who enjoyed its predecessor.

Seems like a belated sequel. Josh Brolin is good in it. So is most of the cast. Eva Greene is smoking in it. Nacy's ark is the crappest and messes the film up. Something is just weird. It's watchable, but not as good as the original.
