US Army medic Desmond T. Doss, er medlem av Syvendedags Adventistkirken, et kristent, protestantisk kirkesamfunn, som av samvittighetsgrunner nekter å bære våpen. Likevel ble han tildelt Medal of Honor av president Harry S. Truman for egenhendig å ha reddet livet til over 75 av sine kamerater under konstant fiendeild ved slaget om Okinawa under den andre verdenskrig.

Interesting story. To much slow motion during the combat scenes, thought. And I don't think the main character is a good actor with that choice of his.
