Slow plodding movie with a lame investigative plot that falls flat when everything is just a red herring to reveal a lame link between the main characters. Weak lead choice though we know Peter has become popular but this role did not fit him. Watch this only if you are a Dinklage fan.

A heartening tale that should be able to resonate with anyone. The premise is that of a device that recalls someones 'true, unfiltered' memories to the surface. The man behind the device embroils many characters into the story, through his untimely death. The movie is cohesive and engaging for almost all parts of its 1 hr 45mins of theatrical rolling. It has hints of sci-fi, and surreal experiences while teaching us to come to grips with our pasts, and move forward with life. Definitely 4/5 or even greater. Kinda reminds me of Remember Me - the 2013 game by DONTNOD, with its focus on memories.

Shaky acting and dialogue, and a story that gets increasingly sentimental are almost redeemed by good production values and superb sound design. Has subtitles. Great vfm though :) Note: this film is not actually rated R13 in NZ.
