Poppy is an unmarried primary school teacher who lives in London, cannot drive and is constantly questioned about her unrelenting optimism, which baffles her more cynical friends. During her weekly driving lessons with sour-faced Scott, flamenco lessons with a saucy Spaniard, and encounters with the local homeless, Poppy attempts to impart her sunny outlook on the world.
