The rescue of Solo from Jabba's dungeon comes to feel like filler, and when this was first released a lot of kids were disappointed in pacifist Luke redeeming his baleful cyborg father instead of opening a lethal can of whoop-ass on him. But the moral themes have aged well, and Mark Hamill steals the show as a mature and mysterious Skywalker dressed all in black. ROTJ, like the later Phantom Menace, seems geared for kids, and meanders like The Last Jedi, but it delivers adventure and philosophy.

Luke's development was great, I enjoyed seeing him become a true Jedi. The closure between Han Solo and Princess Leia was much appreciated. It was a bit lame, though, that's the fate of the galaxy depended on the Ewoks. And the story with the emperor and Darth Vader ended decently well. I am not sure why the emperor did not fight back, though...
