Timeless Film This is a phenomenal film for both sports lovers and non. It is chock full of so many different themes, side stories, and subtle and subliminal messages. Everyone will take something valuable away from seeing it. The cinematography is great and the acting is very well done - some great performances from some no-name kids. Not to mention, the soundtrack is phenomenal. I will always remember this film for its score.

High school coach Jim Morris (Dennis Quaid) thought his dream was over. He'd had his shot playing baseball, blew out his shoulder, and retired without ever reaching the big leagues. Then, in 1999, he made a bet with his perpetually losing team: If they won the district championship, Morris -- who threw a 98 mph fastball -- would try out for the majors. The team went from worst to first, and Jim was soon on the road to becoming the oldest rookie in the major leagues!

James Van Der Beek (Dawson's Creek) leads the action in this exciting, funny coming-of-age story about a small-town high schooler confronting the pressures and temptations of gridiron glory. At first, backup quarterback Jonathan "Mox" Moxom (Van Der Beek) is nowhere close to being a football star. He's perfectly content to stay on the bench and out of the win-at-all-cost strategies of coach Bud Kilmer (Jon Voight in a powerful performance). But when the starting quarterback is injured, Mox is in the game, and in direct conflict with his hotheaded coach and girlfriend. Soon everyone in Mox's football-crazed community will realize there's not just a new star quarterback in town, there's a new kind of hero.
A classic tale of redemption, this film features a volatile coach and a former star player-turned alcoholic leading a small-town basketball team on an improbable run to the Indiana high school championship game. Coach Norman Dale encounters several hurdles in his path: a feisty teacher determined to keep the best player from going out for the team, a town chock full of second-guessing fathers, and a group of undisciplined athletes. Story inspired by the Milan (Indiana) Indians' state title of 1954. Nominated for two Oscars and hailed by Sports Illustrated and ESPN as one of the best sports movies of all time, this triumphant tale of a high school basketball team's long-shot attempt to win the state features "fast-break cinematography" that catches the pace of the game.
Academy Award winner Al Pacino and Cameron Diaz lead a stellar cast in Oscar winner Oliver Stone's hard-hitting homage to the gridiron gladiators of Any Given Sunday. Tony D'Amato (Pacino), head coach of football's two-time champion Miami Sharks, desperately tries to hold his now losing team together. With seasoned quarterback Jack "Cap" Rooney (Dennis Quaid) injured and past his prime, third-string player Willie Beamen (Jamie Foxx) powers the Sharks to a playoff spot. At odds with Beamen's renegade style and loyal to Cap, D'Amato returns the veteran to the starting lineup, a choice that rankles young, aggressive team owner Christina Pagniacci (Cameron Diaz), who views a winning squad only as a marketable commodity. Pressured and disillusioned, D'Amato must win at any cost or suffer the defeat of his career.
