VE Day, 1945. Across Europe, people are celebrating the end of the war. London overflows with celebration and excess. Two princesses are allowed out that night to join the party. For the first time they are able to mingle with the teeming crowds, incognito, and they get back home far too late. Home is Buckingham Palace. Our two princesses are Margaret and the future Queen of England, Elizabeth. Well acted end of WW2 comedy drama. Sumptuous set designs. Lovely clothing styles which leave today's severely lacking! Highly recommended - I'm very glad I bought this film loosely based on truth, which adds to the enjoyment.
