Hardcore band MISERY SIGNALS have reunited their original lineup in celebration of the tenth anniversary of their critically acclaimed debut album. This tour marks the first time the band will perform with its former vocalist since his unceremonious ousting a decade prior. YESTERDAY WAS EVERYTHING explores the fatal tragedy that brought the band together and follows their journey from Vancouver to Toronto as they face old ghosts and attempt to reconcile the past.

I've been waiting so long for this and it didn't disappoint. I did not know the full story of Jordo and Compromise and to see how deeply it still affects every one was heartbreaking. Misery Signals have been a favourite band of mine since I first heard their debut EP with The Year Summer Ended In June on it and this look inside the reunion tour and history of the band was so awesome and special. Absolutely love everything about this. So glad I got to see it. I hope we still get more music form them one day.

Ignore the one bad review this documentary has received so far. If you have ever been a fan of Misery Signals, let alone part of any metal band, this documentary will connect with you. From how their seminal album Malice was created, to the emotional pain and beauty of its lyrics, it tells the story of more than one group of young boys trying to make it in music; exploring the relationships between members, their families, and all the fans in such a way that gives closure and confirmation of what should have been/should be a festival headlining act. If you've ever wanted an insight into what life is really like as a fledgling band, or just enjoy THIS band: Misery Signals who whilst touring the country, sleeping in vans, simultaneously defined a genre; this documentary will immerse you in that world, and you won't want to leave. Thank you for the songs and thank you for this film.

Despite Misery Signals' first two albums being a huge part of my musical upbringing, this documentary falls way short.Most of it is just the guys from the band/scene talking vaguely about how hard it is to be in a small touring band. They talk about their falling out with Jesse as if there were some major catalyst other than the simple fact that it's difficult to get along with people in close quarters for long periods of time. If there is truly a unique story here, it wasn't told very well. Watching with my girlfriend, who isn't at all involved in music, she had absolutely no idea what was going on through the majority of the film. Everything just seemed hodge podged together.
