So this is basically Detention of the Dead revisited? It was aight could have been far better, things kinda pick up towards the end though but still, this is just another mediocre zombie flick that tries but fails to throw some humor into the mix, no matter who the cast is, nothing new to see here.

This movie was a disappointment. I blame it, for the most part, on poor writing and poor character development. Nasim Pedrad and Jack McBrayer (30 Rock) were sadly underutilized. How is it that they weren't more involved in key scenes?? I don't think Rainn Wilson's character was able to carry the movie either. The whole time I kept thinking of how good it could have been.

I guess the film gets it right at the beginning when the main character's mom says that his book isn't good because his characters aren't likeable enough. Accurate. Great cast and interesting premise but the execution and writing were horrendous.
