Pixar is always famous for their animated films that changed the movie industry in the 1990s. This animated short film, La Luna (The Moon) is no exception. It tells the story in a very imaginative way. The story is about a magical explanation of a natural event: the moon and its phases. In the course of learning how to work by observing his grandpa and dad, the little boy imitated both of their actions. From the way the hat is worn to the way how to sweep the mini stars, La Luna shows the audience effectively how great the caretaker's influence can be on children. All the lessons was taught to the kid by a ridiculous language, but the expression on both grandpa and dad does the job very well. It helps create a very significant feeling about the film. The boy's creativity in finding his own way to work is really creative and ambitious. About cinematography, La Luna is arguably a masterpiece. Pixar's own designing aesthetic rule is practiced very well along with the already impressive setting. The audience's eyes will be satisfied with a very smart and intuitive use of lights. By having that good visual advantage, the characters also become adorable no matter of their personalities.

While less humorous than some Pixar shorts (I'm looking at you "For the Birds") it's cute tone was really well done while not being overly sweet. A great freebie that Google threw in with my new Nexus 7.

I have a 20 month old toddler. He watches this short movie at least three times a day! Its the first video that he actually sat still and watched. He loves when the grandfather wiggles his finger in his ear (weird I know!)
