Senior A.J. MONTOYA Cody Esquivel is his high school’s star quarterback until he breaks his hand. In desperation, AJ realizes that his only shot at athletic glory is to team up with his longtime rivals -- the cross country team, quirky misfits lead by their feisty captain, ROSIE Andy Bueno. Together, they have the potential to win big under the guidance of COACH MENLO Efren Ramirez, a likable slacker who is chasing a big win of his own!

Like turning the pages of my high school yearbook; reminiscing about friends and events in my adolescent life. It allowed me to laugh at the moments that I felt, at the time, were the most important in my life. As a native Montero, the authenticity of the setting serves as a time capsule that I will be able to pass on to my grandchildren and share what life was like as a Chicano kid in El Monte. Thank you for the Chicanx people, thank you for El Monte, and thank you for a funny ass movie!

it's a nice movie. been following the making of it for a while now. and I'm happy to see it made it out. this movie really shows how it is in cross country. as an ex cross country runner I get everything about it. this and McFarland USA are my favorite movies but also shows no matter what dont give it.
