It is a nice up-to-date take on the original story, with appropriate addition of modern technology and social trends. I do like Nancy being spunky, but I think she doesn't have to keep breaking the laws while trying to solve the case, like picking locks, and Bess pretending to be someone whom she isn't to get the facts out of unsuspecting people. This is kind of like Harry Potter series that downplayed the intelligence and courage of the adult characters, just to make the teens look better, but that is not the right or just way. And I don't like how the first soundtrack keep hyping about More Than Being a Girl. Whether you are being a girl, a boy, besides physical attributes, either can be smart, or less smart. So by repeating "I am more than being a girl", it is like over compensation for lack of true self-confidence of being who one is, whether girl or boy; I do appreciate how Helen gets to stop relying on falling back on expected social norms for a "rich and beautiful" popular girl, but I don't see why Nancy couldn't start polishing her nails. I am female, but I don't need to stress or overstress that, to be who I truly am, or who I can choose to be.
Hope Awesome
I remember the books! Very Good movie! Love Nancy Drew's sarcastic, yet happy go lucky sense of humor & outlook on life 😊 worth watching. thanks Google, fantastic movie 👍
