After seeing Battle Royale, I'm going to be bias here but this movie is child's play compared to Battle Royale. The Hunger Games has potential, but it was neither executed well enough in the novels nor the movies so far. Plus Battle Royale had richer and denser character development than the Hunger Games. Furthermore, the Hunger Games is really aimed at teen hormonal girl/boy teenagers with its nice love triangle which was executed badly and not believable.

I give the movie 5 stars for being a really good movie, however minus 3 stars for marketing a very violent movie to kids. Who in their right mind want to take thair kid to see a bunch of teenagers violently kill each other with knives, swords and bricks. Hell they might as well have them rape each other and eat the bodies when they are done. After watching this thing I felt like 300 was a rate at G movie. Warning do not let your kids watch this movie unless you don't mind them watching blood pattering everywhere.

I was really expecting more substance in this film. At no point during the film did I feel scared, sad, anxious nor angry at the bad guys for pitting young kids in a bloody game. I just kept waiting for thing to get more entertaining, but the movie just continued on its dull path. In the end the winners are the ones who make money from this film. I should have invested my money on the books, which is what I'll do. The books should be better. I don't mean to be negative, but the movie was about two and a half hour long. That is time of my life that I'll never get back.
