I wanted this to be great, but it's just too late and without the original Office writers. It ends up being a one man band, a joke of itself, Ricky Gervais struggling to carry a single character for an hour and a half. I just couldn't stop thinking about how Alan Partridge managed the film spin-off lark much better than this. Not without merit or humour and the end was a nice way of wrapping up the character for good

The original script for David Brent in the Office TV series gave him the just the right amount of social awkwardness to make him believable. It was near perfect. This dire film however, turned up the cringe factor far too much and lost the subtlety that made the original 2 UK Office series so special. Gervais has for so long been one of my favourite UK comedians, but he lost his way with this poorly scripted flop that barely raised a smile throughout. Time to move on Ricky and dump David Brent.

Having absolutely loved The Office, Extra and Lifes Too Short I was looking forward to this. The character itself has wron a bit over time, but its still absolutely cringe worthy hilarious and definitely worth watching if your a brent fan. Just give it some time to warm up and you will see that the classic brent is back.
