About this movie

From the makers of Coraline comes the story of Norman, a boy who must use his ability to see and speak with the dead to save his town from a centuries-old curse. In addition to spooky zombies, he'll also have to take on mysterious ghosts, wily witches and, worst, of all, clueless grown-ups. But this young ghoul whisperer will soon find his paranormal abilities pushed to their otherworldly limits. Featuring the voice talents of Kodi Smit-McPhee, Anna Kendrick, Casey Affleck, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Leslie Mann, Jeff Garlin and John Goodman, it's a frightfully funny and magically thrilling adventure for the whole family in eye-popping stop-motion.

I felt the movie was pretty predictable despite the crude humor and vulgarities. The art styles is awful. Particularly with Norman's mother's forehead, which I couldn't understand why her head had a giant slope. (Tumor?) It was entertaining in how characters reacted to the supernatural phenomenon, but at the end of the day its just another weird-kid-becomes-a-hero story. I'm not sure if kids would like this one, as its not very interesting or memorable.

This movie was pretty good, I can honestly say I enjoyed it , but when I got to the end and the guy said he had a boyfriend it just ruined it for me. As a Christian this is very offensive, also they shouldn't be putting content like that in a children's movie. The movie could have been just as good without that. An no I'm not close minded, I'm just firm in my beliefs. I really wish I could've given this movie more than a 2 star rating but I just can't, sorry Laika but you did it to yourself.

The animation is ugly. I like stop motion animation but I did not like the design of these characters. I feel like some of the content did not need to be in this movie and it was pushing an agenda. The storyline was okay but could have been done better. But my four and five year old like the movie. But the movie did leave them with questions that I wasn't ready to answer for them. This movie should have been rated PG-13 or higher. Because it started conversations like why did that guy say his boyfriend.
