About this movie

Romance! Adventure! Hilarity! Italy! Woody Allen leads this all-star cast on a rollicking ride through the streets of one of the world's greatest cities. Lovers and Fiancées, Opera Singers and Architects, the talented and the famous, and the youthful and the wise are all players within this ensemble tour-de-force, as their stories and lives magically criss-cross and collide throughout this engaging film. Also starring Alec Baldwin, Roberto Benigni, Penélope Cruz, Judy Davis, Jesse Eisenberg, Greta Gerwig and Ellen Page in a movie as incredible as Rome itself.

I thought I could get through a Woody Allen movie considering the great talent in this one. I was wrong. All of his movies are the same, every last one. No depth, just people hung up on sex. He must be absolutely the most vapid writer, ever. His character is paper thin at best. Sad. And I love Italy. He almost ruined it for me, so I had to shut him down 15 min into it.

Reminiscent of old Cary Grant/Sophia Loren comedies. Some parts were confusing, where did Milly spend the night? Why did Monica have to be so disgustingly graphic? That would turn a man off, not on. Enjoyable if you are not expecting a lot. Shower theme was silly, but fun. Do they still sing opera in Italy nowadays? It was good to see people wearing normal clothes.
