About this movie

As tensions rose between the United States and Cuba, Castro began to nationalize important industries within Cuba, the premium tobacco industry being among them. Many traditional Cuban tobacco-growing families lost everything and had to flee to the US, Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic, and Honduras to rebuild. Hand Rolled follows those families on a decades-long struggle to reestablish themselves in uncertain economies throughout Latin America.

Regardless of what happens going forward in the cigar industry, Hand Rolled: A Film About Cigars Might be the MOST important piece of literature in the history of CIGARS. I genuinely loved it. As a bit of a documentary nerd my beef is usually in the continuity of the story telling. This doc had a very easy flow very linear which made the information easy to digest. These guys did great. I will always support and promote things I believe in.

This is an amazing insight into the world of cigars. I loved discovering and learning about the people behind the brands I enjoy and look forward to experiencing some of the cigars I've yet to try. The first time I watch this, I rented it. This time, I just decided to purchase it so I can keep it in my library and also share it with my friends. The only negative about this is that currently there is no translation or subtitles for the Spanish speaking parts, even with the subtitled enabled. It is very unfortunate to not be able to understand when Pepin is speaking. I hope that Google can fix this in the future. I would recommend this to anyone, and this is a must watch for anyone who enjoys cigars.

Actually bought this on my ITunes before it made it to Android. I'm sad that the file wont transfer to my android device. So, i will probably have to buy it again for this platform as well. Very good documentary that highlights the top cigar manufacturers and cigar blenders in the world. I thank you guys for the time and effort you put into getting this done! I expect Netflix to cut the check soon (fingers crossed).
