Compelling and unconventional horror movie whose genre is all over the place. To me, this has got Southern Gothic written all over it, offering up a series of shocking scenes that won't hold back. Peppered in beneath the shock value is a study of society, most notably: biased, unfair trials, self-righteous prosecutors, corrupt media, and an unlucky scapegoat. This story line has become infamous recently with the release of documentaries hinting at the same thing: a crooked justice system. Strap in and enjoy a trip to rural Texas for a true story with a curious ending.
