As a WW2 junkie. This was not an accurate representation of Col. Stauffenberg. He was a Nazi Party member who supported Hitlers invasion of Poland and slave labor policies. There is a letter he wrote to his wife after the Nazis conquered Poland that he says that the Poles and Jews will make great free labor for the Germans. It is only when the Germans were losing the war he tried to do something about it. But it was not to save Jews from the concentration camps or Nazi policies. It was only to try and save Germany from Unconditional surrender and be at the mercy of the Allies bidding and policies.

At first I wouldn't watch. My thought was "Tom Cruise saving the world from Hitler" is too much. Finally I did, and it was tolerable; unappreciated great Tom Wilkinson brought up the slack. As per historical accuracy, Mr. Melchior is right, other than the plan's failure, to which I won't allude lest I spoil it. "Valkyrie" is from Norse mythology. Valkyries are female demigods who watch over battles, choosing who will die. It's used because it's in "Die Walküre", Hitler's beloved composer Wagner's opera.
