About this movie

Patrick Bateman (Christian Bale) is a Wall Street yuppie, obsessed with success, status and style, with a stunning fiancee (Reese Witherspoon). He is also a psychotic killer who rapes, murders and dismembers both strangers and acquaintances without provocation or purpose. Based on the controversial novel, the film offers a sharp satire to the dark side of yuppie culture in the '80s, while setting forth a vision that is both terrifying and chilling.

I am being kind with the rating. Afterall, there were a few good actors/actresses. Story was boring, over exaggerated, and predictable. I am having difficulty trying to understand why anyone would rate this movie as a 4 or 5 star movie??? I only managed to watch it until the end because I kept waiting for something to happen! It was monotonous and the ending was not a suprise or "twist" of any sort. It was boring. Was that an ending? I am having a hard time finding words for this movie as it was an uninspiring "film" and I use the term "film" loosely. I was watching it because it was categorized as a "horror" film and I couldn't find one part of the film that was scarey, suspenseful, or horrific. Even the parts that I assume were supposed to be "chilling" or "horrific" (ie. killing scenes), were "boring". DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. It wasn't worth the $3.01 that I paid to rent it. I WANT MY MONEY BACK!! ;-)

If you're only hearing (The awesome!) background music, chances are that you're only hearing some of the channels in a surround sound setup. A quick fix for this is to plug your speakers (or headphones) into the front panel audio of your system. This will force your computer to use stereo (instead of surround) sound and should fix your issue. Give this movie a go if you haven't seen it before, you'd be surprised how many references to this movie exist in pop culture!
