I can't believe it's 2020 and I've never heard of this movie before. I actually found the movie on crackle for free to watch. When I say this movie was comical but also made you truly think about racism now and back then. It made you really think about what our ancestors would feel like if they came back and seen how we are living today. I've already told several people about this move and they never heard of it before. This was a great movie I'll be purchasing it.

This is what a black sci-fi movie would look like back in 1939. The story was very good. You will laugh but more importantly you will think. This is the type of quality film that Hollywood cannot make. WELL DONE.

Watch most any science-fiction film of the '50s and '60s and what's missing? You're right! A good story and well-executed special effects! Aside from that, colored folk are nowhere to be found. DESTINATION: PLANET NEGRO makes up for the missing colored folk while staying true to the '50s and '60s laughable story line and minimal effort special effects. And while much of this film might be written off as bad parody to bad sci-fi film, there is much to be praised in this film. Often witty dialogue, marginally good acting and bitter truths served with a humorous sting. Enjoyable!
