After killing a home invader in self-defence, Richard Dane (Michael C. Hall) is hailed as a hero in his small Texas hometown. When the burglar's ex-con father (Sam Shepard) rolls into town hell-bent on revenge, Dane soon finds himself fearing for his family’s safety. But small town corruption and paranoia turn these bitter enemies into unlikely allies, and they begin a search for truth with the help of a backwoods detective (Don Johnson). Before it’s all over, what they uncover is darker and more dangerous than any of them could have imagined in this tone-shifting thriller by Jim Mickle (Stakeland).
