There were about 5 minutes of violence in this movie. Mostly just a lot of talking. They talked in riddles, no one said what they wanted to say out right. If you this based on the title that you will get mob like violence.. think again. This movoe was 2 hours of hoping it would pick up soon. But it never did. Cant see how it was oscar nominated.

I felt this film was VERY slow moving story wise . And the main character was so unlikable egotistical & full of himself (like the world revolved around him & his big American Dream business power move) that it was kinda of hard to like this guy. I wanted to give him a good smack in the mouth. But with that said the direction is on point and the cinematography was good the film looks beautiful. & the movie really captured the early 80s vibe of New York City. So I'm giving it 2 stars for the later mentions.

Really, it's just so slow and never hits the peak of what it could have done. You keep waiting for the action to ramp-up, and a few times you think it might, be it never actually delivers. That actors do a good enough job with what they were given, it's just that the story itself is just bone dry boring. The main character is a semi-tough-guy who doesn't want to be a tough-guy and it shows. All the "action" is what is shown in trailers. If you have seen a trailer, then you have seen 95% of any of "exciting" sections of this snore-fest. If you are expecting high action, adrenaline fulled shoot-outs, car chases and the like you are going to be disappointed. FINAL WORD: If you find watching finance subcommittee reform discussions on C-SPAN exiting, then this might be a good movie for you, otherwise, I recommend only investing time or money into this if you just have absolutely nothing else better to watch.
