Dick seethes with jealousy over the many successes of his faculty rival, Dr. Strudwick. However, it's more than Dick can bear when he learns that Strudwick had an affair with Mary before Dick met her. To settle the score, Dick decides he must have an affair with Strudwick's wife Dottie.
3 The Fifth Solomon

When Dick smashes the Rambler into a tree, Mary assumes that he’s insured, but he isn’t. He pretends he has the same agent as Mary and when the agent drops by, Dick is annoyed to discover that it’s necessary to buy the insurance before the accident. But when Dick rents a car, he falls in love with it.

Mary invites the Solomons to accompany her to a murder-mystery weekend. The victim of bad prawns, she takes to her bed, unaware that the oblivious Solomons have no idea that all of the events are being staged by actors.

When Nina explains that it’s a kind of support group for black students, Dick assumes it must be something like Weight Watchers. The next day in class, Dick learns that Caryn attended the meeting and he wants to know what happened.

Dick has erotic fantasies about Nina, which he foolishly tells Mary about. Mary is furious with Dick and noticeably upset with Nina as well. When Nina wonders what’s going on, Dick confesses his fantasies, which disgust Nina and further fuels the tension between her and Mary.

Dick walks in while his teaching colleagues are discussing the killings they’ve made in the stock market. Not to be outdone and without a clue of what they’re talking about, Dick invites Mary on a six-day vacation in Cancun to be paid for with his stock-market profits.

Dick had always thought that students rested during the break but his class quickly sets him straight. Mary shows Dick a brochure for "The Bed and Breakfast on Sterling Lake" where she spent many happy summers with her family as a young girl. Dick suggests that they go and recapture her youth.

When huge funding cuts are announced, Dick tells Pendelton's new chancellor that the entire faculty is willing to resign in protest, but the chancellor calls Dick's bluff.

Strudwick and Judith announce that they've teamed up for the Badger Day dance contest. Although she protests that she has two left feet, Mary agrees to be Dick's partner while Nina reluctantly pairs up with Harry.
18 Dick and Harry Fall in a Hole

On their way to pick up a pizza, Dick and Harry run out of gas. As they cross a field going after gas, Dick falls into a giant hole. Moments later, Harry falls in too. Stuck, Dick panics while Harry remains calm. Soon, both Rutherford police and press arrive.
19 Frankie Goes to Rutherford

Frank Cooper, a former student of Mary's and now an academic himself, shows up at Rutherford. Cooper, a very handsome man, greets Mary affectionately and Dick's instantly overwhelmed with jealousy.
20 Dick Solomon's Day Off

When Nina announces that she's sick and won't be in the next day, Mary has to explain the concept of "sick days" to Dick. It's such a beautiful day that Dick, already dressed for work, decides to call in sick too.
21 The Big Giant Head Returns Again (Part 1)

The Big Giant Head and Vicki arrive unexpectedly, and it's immediately clear that the honeymoon is over. The BGH insists that Dick take him out clubbing that night in spite of the fact that Dick has already made plans with Mary.

The other aliens learn that the BGH is Dick’s father. Meanwhile, Tommy discovers that Sally dumped Alissa on his behalf.

About this show

A group of aliens is sent to Earth, disguised as a human family, to experience and report about life on the third planet from the sun.

This is a hilarious show, and it has caused many chuckles from me. My favorite characters are Dick and Harry. And it is not like your average sitcom! Just watch this, you won't regret it.

Every single moment is complete comedy. Not a single serious scene in the whole serious...except when Sally gives Don his ring back.
