Seriously, do you know what it is to be amish? This is not amish. Its a tv show exploiting an innocent people with no means to fight back and exploiting an ignorant public who are too dumb to see the script behind it. Since there is little known by outsiders about the amish communities out side of the Pennsylvania Dutch country and most Pennsylvania Dutch think its cool to think they are Amish, we get duped into thinking this is real. All it does is prey on people who wont and cant fight back.

Ok, I have to add to this. There is now some truth starting to show, but the show is so twisted that anyone viewing this and trying to grasp how the Amish culture is.They really don't know much more than before! Also, it does not mean that all amish are that way. Hut parties, ect. Only a small part of the amish are involved. This show is fully scripted! There is absolutely no truth to the show! If in doubt, go to any Amish person and ask. I am Amish and I have yet to see a part that looks even half true!

Amish portrayed in the show are a minority. Yes, they have the same problems as any community. But the show is unfairly focused on the Mennonite who dress and are similar to the Amish. BUT Mennonites drive, allow photos, have electric, but in simplicity not excess. The show is factual but filled with half truths. Why not include the horrible puppy mills run by Amish? And do you think the so-called Amish Mafia would have stood by when the children were massacred at Nickle Mines?
