Groovy af. Was debating whether to go 5 or 4 stars , but since 4 stars is described as "liked it" and 5 as " loved it" I concluded that the latter is much closer to how I feel about it. The show is funny, witty, silly, and honestly just a great ride. Its very 80s and reminiscent of the original Evil Dead movies without ever feeling dated or out of touch. I would say it actually improves on what worked about those, likely an advantage from having almost 30 years for the creators to really hone in on what worked and made those original 3 so special, and making every episode a mini 80s horror film. Bruce Campbell is great as Ash and his character is really fleshed out in this more so than in the original films. The supporting cast is also great with every character being interesting and very loveable. That might be the perfect word to describe this show: loveable. Its not great cinema in the vain of Game of Thrones or something like Shindlers List, but it isn't trying to be. It knows exactly what it wants to be and nails it. If you don't like the first episode then its not a show for you. But if you liked it, strap in to have a great time! Shame it got cancelled. Not groovy at all!

There's not much to say other than really good, I've seen the entirety of evil dead, and it still holds up. There was never a part of the show I didn't enjoy however showing the very first episode to friends and family can be a little awkward

So close to 5 stars but what's with that ending? It's Bruce, back as Ash and he's exactly how you'd picture him 30 years later. Direct continuation of Evil Dead 2 that appears to ignore Army of Darkness and instead borrows a few elements from it. It's 10 quick episodes of fan-service with a great cast, cool special effects (practical but enhanced with CGI) and a sweet soundtrack. It's just that ending... It's faithful to the character of Ash and I am looking forward to season 2 but it is the very definition of «falling flat». Sure hope season 2 redeems it! It's good to see you back together Sam and Bruce ^.^
