Crown Princess Martha and Crown Prince Olav flee when Germany attacks Norway. The Germans are closing in, so they need to make a hard decision.

Martha isn’t safe with her Nazi-sympathetic relatives in Sweden. She must bring her children to safety, taking her further away from Olav.</

In the USA, the President showers Martha and the children with attention. But when German bombs leave London in ruins, Martha fears for Olav’s life.

Martha begs the President to help Norway, but he has promised to keep the USA out of the war. Their friendship is put at stake.

The Cabinet puts a stop to Martha’s efforts for Norway. When the President intervenes, she realizes his feelings for her are deeper than friendship.

Martha promises Olav not to see the President again, but when an unexpected threat arises, she and the children need the President’s protection.

Roosevelt announces that he will help Norway and asks her to tell him the truth about what she feels for him.

Martha isn’t sure if she will return home after the war. Before she starts a new life, she must face one final battle--maybe the greatest of her life.

1940. Norway is occupied by Nazi Germany. Norwegian Crown Princess Martha and her children find shelter in FDR’s White House, where she soon begins to influence FDR’s views on Europe and eventually changes the dynamics of U.S. politics.
